I. Unlock Conditions
1. Consume a certain number of Commander Tokens;
2. Reach the designated Commander Level.
II. Unit Characteristics
As an advanced unit, the Longbowman has a longer attack range than the basic Archer. However, at extremely long distances, the Longbowman's accuracy decreases. In addition, when engaging enemy troops at close range with little height difference, Longbowmen's damage drops.
III. Combat Role
The Longbowman is a Tier 2 unit in the Archer class and follows the archer's counter system—easily countered by Swordsman, Cavalry, and Spearman. As such, this unit typically requires support from allied troops to perform effectively.
As the core ranged unit in Order of Kings, Longbowmen are widely used on the battlefield and typically serve as the main damage dealers. They are especially effective in siege or defense scenarios, using their extended attack range to continuously strike enemy Troops from a safe position.
Note that Longbowmen should avoid melee combat with standard units. In close combat, they are not only more vulnerable to counters but also deal less damage and have lower survivability.
IV. Commander Recommendations
Hou Yi: Hou Yi has top-tier Unit Affinity with Archers, granting extra attribute bonuses. As a formation Commander, his Skill deals massive damage to the enemy. When your Troops advance to Longbowmen, Hou Yi can leverage their increased attack range to effectively strike distant targets. His normal attacks have a splash effect that can hit adjacent Troops, making him especially effective in large-scale sieges or PvP battlefields where units are clustered.
However, Longbowmen have clear weaknesses, particularly against fast Cavalry and other close-quarters units. Once engaged in close combat, it's hard for them to break free, so extra protection is needed during battles.

Huang Zhong: Huang Zhong also has outstanding Unit Affinity with Archers, gaining extra attributes. As a key Commander in the Archer system, he starts with high Might and fast growth, making him powerful in combat. Huang Zhong's Skill has a chance to deal group Physical Damage, excelling at covering large areas.
Advancing to Longbowmen allows Huang Zhong to maximize Archer advantages and further boost long-range attack power. Again, avoid engaging enemy troops at close range.
